"It is in solitude where we start to being to understand what is important.

It was said I was born into this world in search of knowledge. As a child, I asked impossible questions. As a young man, I continued to ask those questions, and started to become frustrated I was not able to find the answers. It was beginning to become too much, and I decided one day to take a journey of understanding. 

Every learned scholar knows of the ancient libraries of Astoria City, entombed in buildings covered in sleet and chill; books and manuscript so brittle by the cold it seemed the leather would crack and turn into shards of ice at the smallest touch. But I needed to know.

I begged a merchant's caravan to take me. I braved the ice and the bitter cold seeking the wisdom of the world. For my own sake I must know.

That was seventy three years ago.

They call the section of the city the Solitude District, simply because of the quiet. Not everyone of this world has a thirst for knowledge like myself, so very often these ancient libraries remain untouched. Many months go by before I see anyone besides myself roam these halls of writings. It is of no matter. I prefer the quiet. Books come alive within my hands, and the knowledge pours from the pages through my fingers. Conversation and companionship are not required.

These libraries are my home. I will die with this knowledge...yet it does not sadden me. I traveled the seas seeking this wisdom, and I found it. People from round the world seek me for answers, and I direct them to the books that I have read time and time again.

I am the most learned man in the world. I, however, fear it has made me as cold as the ice that plagues this city."
