This was it. Our ragtag group of adventurers finally crossed over the chasm the Great Elemental Quake tore through our world, and for most of us, this would be the first time seeing this side of Taeryn. The side that was rendered magicless and desolate, the complete opposite of what we were used to.

The covered bridge seemed to lower agonizingly slowly. My eyes wanted to see how a world could function without the basic necessities of magic; how fauna and flora that thrive off of the living energy of this world could survive beyond the chasm.

With a groan, the metal finally settled into place. I could see.

Trees or grass, there was none, atleast not trees in the traditional sense. Shriveled up dusted over twigs that desperately tried to rise from the earth is what replaced them. The sky was a haze of a shade of brown I'd never seen before above me, like thin muddy water.

The air was stagnant and dense, like opening the door to a house that had been abandoned for years.

With hesitation I took a step off of the bridge and let my boot make contact with the dirt. A few more steps and I felt as if even our best nature mages back home could never make anything grow in this dead soil.

I made the realization that our world severed of magic is just a lifeless husk. I then made the connection that people still live on this side of world and I wondered to myself how could that even be possible.

My archer comrade's face was twisted with sadness. His home in the forest, this must be awful for him to see.

"Only hope could keep a person alive in this chaos." I said under my breath. 

Our party has the means to fix this world. We shall not dissapoint.
